Pranayam - Breathing Exercise
The Idea

Pranayama (the Sanskrit word for breath control) targets conscious breathing, an evidence-based stress and ADHD relief technique. The design came from the need to teach users mindful breathing in an engaging way. Many mindfulness traditions use breath as an anchor, so the team created a room that makes breathing both intuitive and visually guided. The Kala/Kalpana experiences address creativity and imagination, whereas Pranayama directly trains breathing rhythms to calm the mind. Research in mindfulness and neurosciences suggested that guiding users through breathing cycles could induce calm and focus, which became the core inspiration for this experience.

Technical Implementation & Stack Core Technologies:
  • Unity 3D with Universal Render Pipeline (URP)

  • Binaural Audio Processing using FMOD Studio & Audacity

  • 3D Environmental Design using Maya

  • Particle System Integration for visual breathing cues

End Result:

The Pranayam Room showcases the progressive principle in VR meditation design, where breathing exercises gradually build from simple awareness to advanced techniques. The integration of binaural audio and guided audio meditation represents a sophisticated approach to creating immersive therapeutic soundscapes that can induce specific brainwave states associated with relaxation and mindfulness.
